 My name is George Rivera. I'm a 27 year-old full time entrepreneur living in San Antonio, Texas... home of the defending world champion San Antonio Spurs and soon to be repeat champs (I HOPE!) Uhh.. Scratch that... but I'm glad the Pistons won! Since the age of 17 I have been selling products on the internet. I started off with a weight loss product called Summertime "One Day Diet". To this day, that product continues to be my best selling item of all time. During the summer of 1996, a representative of a company saw my site for the Summertime "One Day Diet" and was so impressed that he asked me to design a site like it for his company. I thought, "sure no problem." I told myself "I guess I'm a web designer now." I set them up with a shopping cart and everything they needed to conduct a successful ecommerce site. At that point, marketing products online was so new that I did not even have my own domain and neither did that site I set these guys up with. It was some free hosted site with a bunch of ugly banners. And believe it or not, I was making sales! I had given them some marketing pointers, nothing major or so I thought... Later on that year they asked me to make a few cosmetic changes. I had to log into their shopping cart and I saw that they were making thousands of dollars per week in sales. I was amazed. Here I was telling them how I was making money with my only site! I even told them where to go to market it, etc. A light bulb went off in my head! I thought why don't I just do the same thing again and again and again and... well you get the picture. Had that been my site, instead of making the $500 or so that I charged the guy (what a bargain!) I could have been making an extra $2000 a week in sales! So what did I do... You guessed it, I screamed to the top of my lungs. Then once I regained my composure I started setting up site after site. Selling everything from even more weight loss products, to a complete line of nutritional supplements, to personal self defense items like stun guns, tasers, mace, pepper sprays, etc. I started to consult small businesses online as to how to marketing their sites online along with the design of their site as well. I never wrote an ebook on it (looking back I should have!). I simply did one on one consulting. Sometimes it was difficult consulting small businesses. A lot of these guys think they know it all, so it makes you wonder why they need consulting in the first place. Then I have to prove to them that the MAIN purpose of their site, ALL the text and EVERY image on the page was to point the customer or prospect in the direction they want the them to go in. Whether it be for a lead or to make a sale. Some clients wanted music to entertain their visitors, fancy (but really cheap) looking clip art that does nothing for them, tons of links with ads (just to make it easier for their precious visitors to click away!). Basically they wanted sites that entertained their visitors. I quickly learned that telling my clients up front that I don't design sites that entertain was crucial because I eliminate people that waste my time. I design sites that sell. They aren't the most flashy, but a VAST majority of the successful sites on the internet are typical, sales letter style sites or strategically designed catalogs sites that lead the visitor to action. I realized that consulting one on one was not the best way to maximize my time. I could make more money designing my own sites and marketing them that teaching other small businesses how to do it themselves. My next project was selling cars online. I sell anywhere from 2 to as many as 8 cars online every month. I've sold over 100 cars online in the past two years, and I'm not talking about Toyota Corollas (although they are very good cars and will outlast most others on the road today!). I've sold Dodge Vipers, Mercedes SL500's, Range Rovers, BMW's among other middle class cars such as Chrysler Sebrings, Ford Mustangs, etc. The most money I've made on a car sale was just under $8 grand. And these cars don't just sell locally, I have people who have purchased cars from me in 35 different states. By the way, I'm not an car dealer! I currently have 10+ websites that are geared toward making sales. The best feeling in the world is going on vacation, whenever you want to and knowing that your websites are still producing sales. Better yet, knowing that you made money in your sleep. Most of my sites are selling physical products that have to be mailed or delivered. Some of them are selling digital goods (such as this site) that are sent via the internet so there is no need to ship them. I've sold product in over 100 countries world wide. I didn't learn how to marketing online overnight. I've been online since 1995, nearly 10 years! I've experience many marketing successes, as well as many marketing failures. I've purchased a TON of marketing ebooks, some good, many bad! What I can tell you is that it is possible to make a living just by marketing anything you want online. My best month online I made over $60,000. My worst month in business I brought in less than $1000. So I've been on both the high side of the business and the low side of it. I currently drive a new BMW (my second one) and live in a 4000 square foot home with 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, two game rooms, two living rooms and a pool with spa.
